The story
What the customer called about
Water leaking in the front yard, near a tree.
What we found
Water leaking in the front yard, near a tree.
What we couldn't know until we opened it up
What was causing the leak, and how old the line was.
The options we gave them
Option 1: spot-repair the leak. Option 2: replace the whole line.
What they chose, and why
The whole line. At more than 70 years old, another leak was only a matter of time.
Before, during and after
Photos from the job itself
A leak in the front yard near a tree turned out to be the home’s original 1954 water line, damaged by roots and corrosion. We replaced it with new PEX-A from the meter at the street to the crawlspace.

The work
- Installed a new PEX-A water line from the meter at the street to the tie-in in the crawlspace
- Sleeved the new line through the foundation into the crawlspace
- Backfilled the trench
