Services

What businesses call us for

Most commercial calls are one of seven things. Each is quoted on site after a licensed plumber has looked at it — commercial work varies too much for a price list, and we'd rather give you a number we'll stand behind than one we'll have to change.

Most common call

Commercial water heaters

Repair, maintenance and replacement of commercial water heaters of any brand. We usually replace like-for-like so your venting, gas and recovery rate stay right; where a tankless bank makes sense we install commercial Rinnai units as a registered Rinnai PRO contractor.

Hotels, restaurants, churches, salons, gyms, apartment boiler rooms.

Drain clearing & camera inspection

Cable clearing of floor drains, restroom lines, kitchen lines and building mains, with a camera run when the same drain keeps backing up so you know whether it's grease, roots or a broken pipe. A jetter for smaller lines when cabling won't hold.

Recurring backups usually mean a pipe problem, not a plunger problem — the camera settles it.

Toilets, urinals & flushometers

Flushometer rebuilds and replacements on every brand, urinal repair and replacement, wax rings, carriers and supply stops. A restroom out of service is the call we clear fastest.

Sloan, Zurn and everything else in a commercial restroom.

Leaks, PRVs & water lines

Any water leak — slab, wall, ceiling, mechanical room or the service line in the parking lot — found and repaired. Pressure-reducing valve installation and replacement when your building's pressure is out of range and fixtures are failing early.

A water bill that jumps with no change in use is usually a leak you can't see yet.

Backflow testing & installation

Annual backflow tests with the report filed to your water provider, plus new installations and replacements when a device fails or a jurisdiction requires one. Certified testers registered across our Wake County service area (not Durham). Details below.

Commercial fixtures & sinks

Three-compartment sinks, hand sinks, mop sinks, faucets, water fountains and bottle fillers, dishwasher and ice-maker connections. Installed to pass your health inspection the first time.

Upfits & remodels, direct with the owner

New restroom, relocated kitchen line, an added hand sink for a new tenant, a laundry or mop-sink room that isn't there yet — we do this work directly for the business or property owner, permitted and inspected, and we coordinate the electrical through ARC Electric when the job needs it. We don't subcontract to general contractors.

Where we stop

We don't do trenchless or lined sewer replacement (we excavate and replace conventionally), and we don't take subcontract work from general contractors. If your job needs something we don't do, we'll say so on the first call.

Compliance

Backflow testing and installation for commercial properties

Every commercial water service, irrigation system and fire line in Wake County has a backflow preventer that must be tested by a certified tester and reported to the water provider — most on an annual cycle. Miss it and the notices start; ignore the notices and the water gets shut off.

  • Certified backflow testers registered with the City of Raleigh, Town of Cary, Town of Apex, Town of Holly Springs and Town of Fuquay-Varina cross-connection programs, and the other water systems across our Wake County service area. Not registered in Durham.
  • Test, tag and file the report with your jurisdiction — you get a copy for your records
  • Repair or replace failed assemblies, and install new devices where a jurisdiction or a new use requires one
  • Reminders before your next test is due, so it doesn't become a shutoff notice

Wake County has no county-level program — testing is run by each city and town. If your property is on a system we haven't named, call; we'll tell you on the phone whether we're registered there.

How we work with businesses

Commercial customers need paperwork, predictability and a plumber who shows up when the building is open. Here is what to expect.

1
Tell us the building and the problem. Address, site contact, access hours and who can approve work. If it's a water heater, the model tag helps.
2
A licensed plumber looks, then quotes. Scope and price are agreed before any work starts. Permits are pulled by us when the job needs one.
3
Paperwork on request. Certificate of insurance naming your company or property, and a W-9, sent the day you ask. Net-30 terms are available when agreed before the first job.
4
After hours for customers we already serve. Existing commercial customers can reach us outside business hours. New customers are scheduled during business hours, first available.

Electrical on the same job. ARC Plumbing's sister company ARC Electric holds an unlimited North Carolina electrical license, so a water heater that needs a new circuit or a pump that needs power doesn't wait on a second contractor.

Scheduled inspections and maintenance visits are available on request for buildings that want them; we don't sell a formal maintenance agreement today.

What commercial customers say

Read all 390 reviews on Google →
"We had an outdoor water fountain installed at our church. ARC's estimate was lower than the others we received. They identified a more efficient way to install it than our initial plan. They organized the concrete subcontractor as part of the project. They were accommodating in scheduling so as to avoid impact to the soup kitchen that runs out of our building. We are very happy with the result and would highly recommend them."★★★★★ James D. · Google
"ARC Plumbing has been working for our church many years that I've been here doing a professional job. Our latest experience was when our water heater went out Sunday during services. We called them, they came the next day, assessed the problem, ordered the part and fixed it quickly. The technicians Clay and Dave are very personable, even teaching me aspects about our system."★★★★★ Hope Community Church, Apex · Google
"This is the 2nd time we used ARC and we have been very pleased with all aspects of their services. From making the appointment to having the work diagnosed and fixed, each individual was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Clay and Thomas arrived on time to install a backflow to our building and kept me informed along the way. They did a great job and Clay spoke to me afterwards to make sure all went well."★★★★★ Rory P. · Google
"Clay and Jack replaced 5 old faucets at our preschool. The other quote we got made it seem like working on old sinks with old plumbing was going to be impossible and we might have to rip it all out... but Clay and Jack made it work and they really went above and beyond and the sinks look brand new!"★★★★★ Megan M. · Google
"We have been having an issue with a rattling noise every time we flushed the toilet in our office. We reached out to a friend for a recommendation — he recommended ARC. The woman who answered the phone exceeded my expectations by scheduling someone to come day-of to take a look. Clay showed up on time and was so pleasant to talk with as he figured out what the issue was. 5/5 Recommend!!"★★★★★ Jaylene B. · Google

Commercial plumbing questions

Do you offer after-hours or emergency service for businesses?

For existing commercial customers, yes — call the main number and it reaches us. New commercial customers are scheduled during business hours, first available. If you'd like to be set up as an account so after-hours is there when you need it, that's a five-minute call.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance and a W-9?

Yes. Tell us the entity to name as certificate holder or additional insured and we send both the same day.

Do you offer Net-30 terms?

Yes, when it's agreed before the first job. Otherwise payment is due on completion.

Are you certified to test backflow devices in Raleigh, Cary and Apex?

Yes. Our testers are registered with the cross-connection programs in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina, and across the other water systems in our Wake County service area. We are not registered in Durham. We test, tag and file the report with your provider.

Do you work with general contractors on new construction?

No. We do upfits, remodels and additions directly for the business or property owner, permitted and inspected, but we don't take subcontract work from GCs.

Can you service a commercial water heater you didn't install?

Yes, any brand. We usually replace like-for-like so venting, gas supply and recovery rate stay correct for the building. Where a tankless bank makes sense we install commercial Rinnai units; we're a registered Rinnai PRO contractor.

Do you offer maintenance agreements?

Not a formal one today. Scheduled inspections and maintenance visits are available on request — water heater flushes, backflow tests, restroom checks — and many of our commercial customers set them up as recurring calls.

What if the job needs an electrician too?

Our sister company ARC Electric holds an unlimited North Carolina electrical license, so a water heater circuit, a pump feed or a disconnect is handled on the same job without a second contractor.
